Fishery Owner Update

A__2ACB_0

Well this year is a very special year as it has been 30 years since I moved here to live in October 1989.

When I moved here there were just trout ponds and an area of marsh land but no fishing lakes or holiday lets. The fishery now boasts five lovely fly fishing lakes, an adult and children’s float fishing lake, a fly fishing tackle shop and nine delightful holiday lets.

The fishery sees guests visiting from across the country and enjoying both the fishing and/or the cottages/apartments/log cabins all year round.

Trout n Tipple

My new tenants from the left John, Will, Madi, Sue and baby George are settling in very well at The TnT and I would like to wish them all the best! They have a wealth of experience in the hospitality trade and I’m sure they will do very well! The TnT has new opening times and a new phone number, please do ring Will or Madi on 01822 611174 for more information or to book a table. There is no need to risk drinking and driving with this pub serving good food on your doorstep when you stay at the fishery!

The Peter Tavy Inn

Peter Tavy Inn – This delightful very well run pub is only a 5 min drive from the fishery and it serves fantastic food!  My favourite is the venison casserole with stilton dumpling. Phone number to book a table here is 01822 810348.  If you fancy a taxi, just ring 01822 618440.

Delightful Fishery Accommodation

DSC_0643

Over the years I have slowly added new accommodation to the fishery and we now proudly boast four lovely detached stone barn conversions, three gorgeous apartments in a large converted stone barn and two beautiful  attached log cabins beside our fly lakes. Now that I have renovated all my barns and cabins, it is time for me to concentrate on ensuring that all my guests have a fabulous holiday with us and return time and time again, a part that I really enjoy!

My holiday lets are available to book all year round and so do give me a call, if you would like a short break or a week or two!  Bookings are now being taken for this winter and also 2020!

Rainbows, Blues, Goldens, Browns, Tigers and Sparctics

In 1991 when the fishery first started we only stocked rainbow trout. Over the years different types of trout have arrived on the fishery and March 2019 saw
the arrival of our first Spractics, bringing our total to 6 different types of trout on the fishery! Wow! Truly terrific!
