The "Trout 'n'
Tipple" pub' is situated just opposite the entrance to the
Fishery. It's a real West Country public house, in a rural setting,
with a large car park. It has a log
burning fire in the main bar and upstairs is a large games room with Pool
Table, Dart Board and some Children's Games.
Children are most welcome and
there is a children's menu. Outside, there is a patio, which is
overlooked by a pretty conservatory and restaurant area. There is a
selection of largely home made food on sale, with "Trout" high
on the list.
Served at the bar are a
variety of beers, including traditional ales, as well as an assortment of
wines and spirits.
Well behaved dogs are also
allowed in this well run "Family" pub'.
For all enquiries about the
pub; bookings for meals; any special requests; and opening times etc.
telephone Shaun and Julie on 01822 618886.
Another really pleasant country pub' is
the Peter Tavy Inn, located on the
edge of Peter Tavy village, down the lane past the church.
The Peter Tavy Inn has a
large dining room and pleasant and somewhat smaller public bar area. It
has a good reputation for food and drink. During warm weather it is
pleasant to sit outside and enjoy a beer in the garden.
The Inn provides real ale (7
different ones and 30 different malt whiskies!) , real fires, real food
and real comfort, and of course vegetarian food is also available. For
further details telephone 01822 810348.

The ancient Stannery Town of
Tavistock, which is 1 mile away, with its mixed shopping centre, excellent
restaurants and pubs, retains that friendly local feeling.
The "Wharf" complex
includes Theatre and Cinema.
There is a Tourist Information
Centre which offers advice and ideas of things to do.
You will be in an ideal area
for visiting the many attractions and amenities, to suit all ages and
tastes.

From the left, these are Tom,
Charlotte, Paulette and Cameron, from Coventry, who stayed in Lake View
Farmhouse this summer. On their last day they fished the Junior
Lake, using smaller rods; sweetcorn bait; a bag; and a priest; everything
they could possibly need, which can be hired from the Office at the
Fishery. They were delighted to catch two fish each. Great
fun!
Plymouth's attractions include
the National Marine Aquarium; the Dome; the Barbican, with its Mayflower
Steps; major high street shops; and great night life, including the
Theatre Royal.
Explore the rugged scenery of
Dartmoor; visit Morwellham Quay, with its Working Museum; or Torbay's
"English Riviera" beaches. The Cornish coast, with its
many coves; tiny fishing villages; and beaches are worth a day trip.
There are many "National Trust" properties in the area.
There are golf courses nearby,
at Tavistock, Yelverton and St. Mellion, which is just over the Cornish
border.
A recent addition is the
magnificent "Eden Project", not far away, near St. Austell in
Cornwall. This is well worth a visit.
