PRICING RESTRUCTURE AT THE FISHERY

As Many of you are already aware, I have changed the way Tavistock Trout Fishery is run and it is very popular.  Anglers really enjoy fishing all the lakes and roaming freely between one fishing swim to another.

CATCH RETURNS

We stocked a lot of large "Brownies" up to 15 lbs at the beginning of the Season.  Mike Millman reported this at the timer and photos were published in the Western Morning News.

Our first angler to tempt one out was Eddy Durrant from Plympton, with an "Olive Woolly Bugger" way back in March.

Plenty of Brown Trout above 3 lbs have been pulled out since then.  Raymond Jurycek from Milton Keynes caught a "Brownie" which weighed-in at 10 lbs 12 ozs on a "Goldhead Green Nymph".

The largest Rainbow Trout that has been landed so far this Season was 16 lbs 2 ozs,  by Mr. M. Dawson.  2nd largest was 12 lbs 13 ozs, by Mr. S. Miller.  3rd largest was  11 lbs 13 ozs by Nigel Reed.  4th largest was 10 lbs 12 ozs, caught by Jonathan Hughes.

Lovely quality Rainbows and Browns are being stocked on a daily basis.

QUALIFIED & COMMERCIALLY ENDORSED AT LAST

Finally, after five courses, I am now a qualified "Skipper" and have received my "Commercial Endorsement Certificate."  The courses I was required to pass included, First Aid; VHF DSC Radio; Sea Survival; Day Skipper Theory (5 days); and Day Skipper, Power, (4 days).  I have also added my Diesel Engine course, purely because I wanted to.  I also had to pass a "Medical".  I completed and passed them all, but it was hard work and I'm glad they are all finished, as I can now concentrate on my lovely fishery again.  You can see full details of "Hobbit", my new 33 foot power boat, via the "Navigation Page" on this web site and full details of trips will be available on this web site very soon.

"Hobbit" is our delightful 36 foot Sealine F33 Power Boat, complete with fly bridge and toilet.

She is moored at Plymouth on the River Tamar in a fully equipped Marina which includes a restaurant and shop etc.

Hobbit can carry up to 6 persons, has twin diesel Volvo Penta engines of 167 hp each, bowthrusters, GPS, Fish Finder, and Raymarine Chart Plotter.  Most important of all, there are flares, life jackets and a life raft, all on board.

I have passed my RYA Skipper's ticket so am happy to accompany you as your host.  "Hobbit" will be fully coded by the end of July 2007 and meets all requisite safety standards in accordance with MCA Regulations for the carriage of passengers.

If you and your friends would like to have a go at sea fishing for mackerel, Pollack, and Bass etc, with a lovely lunch on board, then let me know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

For the non-fishing person who would like lunch on board a beautiful power boat and a trip up the Yealm, to Salcombe, or Looe, please give Abigail a call at the Fishery on 07970 608890.
